TLALIM is a recipient of the Letter of Citation for Volunteerism 2004 from the Presidents of Israel

Allow me to introduce you to TLALIM the one and only school for bedridden and homebound children in Israel established in 1990 by a group of teachers and doctors in Jerusalem" Those were the opening words in the ceremony at the Presidents home on June 23rd 2004 as TLALIM was awarded the Letter of Citation for Volunteerism for 2004.

Tlalim was established over 14 years ago under the auspices of the Ministry of Education in order to render educational support to bedridden pupils, age of 5 – 18 years, who are absent from regular school due to illness or accidents. The learning support is given free of charge to all Tlalim pupils.

The committee that decided to give Tlalim this great honor explained its decision by these arguments:

TLALIM is the only organization in Israel that gives free learning support to every child in Israel absent from school due to illness, accident or terrorist attack.

TLALIM’S educational support connects the ill child with the healthy aspect of their lives and brings to these children new hope: they can keep up with their classmates on a daily basis despite their illness!

TLALIM teachers and volunteers visit every home where help is requested as part of a complex holistic approach to the educational needs of the bedridden children.

"The Letter of Citation for volunteerism 2004 is given to express appreciation and thanks to a humane operation, that provides a most important role in the lives of the children in their most difficult hours of need and most unfortunately sometimes in their final hours."
